I am a producer, audio-maker, showrunner, and storyteller who strives to build communities with my work, whether it's through podcasts, live events, or public enthusiasm. I've spent nearly fifteen years working professionally in the radio, podcast, and news industries. My pronouns are she/her.
My recent podcast work includes a partnership with the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Immaterial), hit documentary series about first dates (This Is Dating) and the history of Chippendales (Welcome To Your Fantasy), and the audio memoir Julie, an intimate portrait of end-of-life care. I have served as Senior Producer at production companies Magnificent Noise and Pineapple Street Studios. Previously, I was BuzzFeed’s Director of Audio and spearheaded several critically-acclaimed podcasts, including Another Round, See Something Say Something, and Thirst Aid Kit. I have been on staff at National Public Radio and WFUV, produced more than 100 live events in three countries, and have taught undergraduates at The New School how to tell meaningful stories about history through audio.
It's important to me to demystify the process of how podcasts get made, and the time, energy, care, work, and experience that goes into them. There's too much misinformation about this art form — that it's easy, cheap, and all you need is a microphone and an idea — that leads to understaffed teams, underpaid workers, undervalued work, and widespread inequality in the audio industry.
I live on Lenapehoking land in Brooklyn, NY. I spend some of my time quilting and sewing clothes, looking at birds, and correcting people who confuse me with the Supreme Court Justice.
